What to do in Trancoso
Praia dos Nativos
In just a few minutes of walking, it is possible to reach Praia dos Nativos, one of the busiest in the city, from the square to Praia dos Nativos, due to its easy access and the structure of the beach huts there. The drainage of the Trancoso River, forms a beautiful lagoon next to the sea, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset among the native forest.
Barra River
Rio da Barra beach is located north of the city and is surrounded by colorful cliffs, bringing a unique beauty to the place. Saint John the Baptist Church
The “Igrejinha do Quadrado”, as it is known and affectionately called by many visitors and residents of Trancoso – it is actually a Catholic Church, having Saint John the Baptist as its main patron saint.
According to historians and testimony from former residents, this Church has its origins in the 17th/18th centuries and its format dates back to the evangelizing work of the Jesuit priests in the region since the beginning of the discovery of Brazil.
